Where each product is installed

The zones of a house behave differently in thermal terms, and Isoflect products are not interchangeable: each is designed for a specific position. Installed elsewhere, even the best product does not achieve the values in its technical data sheet. This guide does not describe the installation; it shows you where to start.
Roof Pro and Roof Optim
The diffusion membrane is installed directly on the rafters, beneath the batten and counter-batten, before the roof covering. It lets vapour from the structure escape and stops water, snow and wind; without it, condensation forms on the inner face of the roof covering. Roof Pro has reaction-to-fire class E, while Roof Optim is the variant with an aluminised layer, at a more accessible price.
Silver or Bronze over the membrane
In the ventilated zone between the battens, Reflectiva Silver or Bronze can be added as an additional reflective layer. They are installed over the diffusion membrane and do not replace it.
Wolle, Reflectiva Gold and Multistrat
Wolle fills the space between the rafters; when 5 cm (P800) is combined with 10 cm (P1500 or P2100), P800 is placed first, because it adheres very well to the porosity of the substrate and requires no anchoring whatsoever; the 10 cm layer follows. Beneath the rafters, over the insulation, comes Reflectiva Gold, while Multistrat is installed immediately before the plasterboard or timber panelling, with a sealed air layer between them. Start from the depth of the rafters and your budget; the configurator calculates the package.
Reflectiva Bronze
An unheated attic does not require a complete build-up between the rafters, but rather protection against thermal radiation and, where applicable, a vapour barrier on the interior side. Bronze is installed either beneath the roof covering, over the diffusion membrane, with the aluminium facing the roof covering, or on the interior side, airtight, as a vapour barrier. It does not replace the diffusion membrane: without it, moisture remains trapped in the roof boarding and in the timber.
Multistrat and Silver
Multistrat is installed on the inner face of metal-stud walls, before the plasterboard, with the aluminium facing outwards. Reflectiva Silver is used on the interior side, between the living space and the insulation, as an airtight thermo-reflective vapour barrier, with all joints sealed.

Can Reflectiva Silver or Bronze replace the diffusion membrane?
No. They are installed over the diffusion membrane, as an additional reflective layer, in the ventilated zone between the battens.
